We absolutely love working in Niagara on the Lake ... this little town is so full of interest and charm that it naturally enhances anything we do here!
This weekend, for Kristin + Ryan's wedding, we were excited again to work at two of our favourite venues ... Queen's Landing and St. Mark's Anglican Church. Two amazing venues for an equally amazing couple!!
We were working some fantastic late summer blooms to pull off a sophisticated, yet romantic and classic feel. The white chair covers with stem green bows and matching stationery were a perfect backdrop for the flowers.
Kristin + Ryan are two beautiful, genuine souls ... truly meant for each other and it was a pleasure to be a part of their wedding celebration! Best wishes to you!!
Kristin's gorgeous bride's bouquet …

The coordinating bridesmaid's bouquets ...

We simply adore St. Mark's Church ... this beautiful old-stone church dates back over 200 years ... a lot of history here. Not just a history of religion or love ... but of the founding of Canada!

We hope Ryan doesn't mind us posting this pic of him holding Kristin's bouquet ... he was busy assisting her into the car and walked off with her bouquet ... so cute!

We designed a mix of tall and short full-floral centerpieces for each of the guest tables in the Grand Georgian Ballroom ...

Kristin + Ryan's 'Sweet Heart' table ...

Our resident wedding stationery guy, Mark, created menus, place cards and seating plan for Kristin + Ryan ...

We're not sure who provided this scrumptious cupcake tree ... unfortunately (for us) we didn't get a sample ... but it sure looked amazing!

So we're officially in those warm, heady days of summer and holiday weekends make for super wedding celebrations ... especially in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
Robin + Dennis tied the knot this past weekend ... outdoors overlooking the Niagara River from the deck of the Queenston Heights Restaurant in Queenston. A hop and a skip down the Niagara Parkway brought their guests to quaint Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Imperial Ballroom at Queen's Landing Hotel, where they celebrated and dined in utmost style!
The bride's 'Charmed' palette was a perfectly pretty combination of blush pink, ivory and white ... classic beauty never goes out of style.
Cheers to summer weddings!
Charm is one of those palettes that brides always seem to return to ... here's an idea of the colour / texture palette we were working with.

The bride and bridesmaid's bouquets ... with callas, roses, lisianthus and orchids.

In addition to being a unique wedding destination, Queenston Heights is also a memorial to The War of 1812 where we Canadians kicked the Americans back across the River ... for the first and last time! Don't worry, it's all good ... we're friends now.

The Imperial Ballroom at Queen's Landing always looks pretty in pink (and white) ... so these centerpieces were right at home!

It's not very often that you 'accidentally' discover your work published in a magazine ... but it happened to us this week when we found one of our favourite fall weddings from 2009 was published in the latest issue of Elegant Wedding magazine! A happy accidental discovery, for sure!!
Kara + Bryan were married on a beautiful October Saturday afternoon at our absolute favourite old stone church in Niagara on the Lake – St. Mark’s Anglican Church! Later in the evening, Kara + Bryan’s guests were invited to an exquisite evening dinner reception in the Vineyard Pavillion at Hillebrand Estates Winery.
Xero Digital did a superb job of capturing the essence of Kara + Bryan's intimate wedding celebration ... experience the day vicariously below!

Shannon + Kirk tied the knot this past weekend and celebrated in style at the lovely Pillar and Post (one of the Vintage Hotels) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario! It was a perfect May Saturday afternoon to get married in Niagara's wine country.
Bliss was the colour palette for the day ... featuring muted tones of antique green, ivory, warm blush and light peach. To achieve this 'modern vintage' look, we chose flowers that have a particular rustic, heritage appeal ... garden and standard roses, dahlias, antique green hydrangea and peonies! We piled on the old-world charm by incorporating fern fronds, heuchera and even some oregano sprigs from our organic cutting gardens!
Best wishes to Shannon + Kirk ... we loved being a part of your wedding day!
Shannon's bridal bouquet ... soft and romantic yet full of interest and texture!

This close-up of Shannon's bridal bouquet gives you a really clear visual of the Bliss colour palette.

We're crazy about the details ... we tied in this funky custom-made ceramic 'button' detail to Shannon's bouquet stem. Something borrowed, something blue ...

Shannon and Kirk's intimate wedding ceremony took place outside in the Rose Garden at the Pillar and Post ... a gorgeous, if not downright hot, afternoon to get married!

We're often asked if we can create a Chuppah / Mandap / Canopy suitable for modern wedding ceremonies and receptions ... of course we can!
If your wedding ceremony or reception requires a Chuppah, Mandap or Canopy, we’ve got you covered … literally! Our unique custom-made frame is a flexible, one-of-a-kind design which allows us to build any style onto it … birch logs, curly willow, fabric, etc. From the base design, we can add flowers, foliages, hanging candles, lanterns and more!
Continuing our look at some of our most requested options, let's talk about custom chuppahs, canopies and grapevine arbours!
We created this birch log canopy for a wedding 'ceremony-in-the-round' ... the bride walked through the spiral of chairs to the centre where she met her groom under the canopy!

Later in the evening, the ceremony canopy became a cozy seating area for guests to relax chat away from the dance floor ...

Claire + Jeremy were married under our curly willow chuppah in the Imperial Ballroom at Queen's Landing ...

Marilyn + Joe were married under a beautiful willow canopy in the Atrium at one of the finest Niagara on the Lake wedding venues, the ever classy Queen’s Landing!

We created this outdoor 'seating and conversation canopy' for Brad + Kevin's wedding at The Good Earth Cooking School and Food Company ... guests cozied up under it throughout the evening and into the wee hours!

For Heather and Josh's wedding reception, we fashioned our custom birch canopy into a sort of ‘sweet-heart’ table covering … the bride and groom were parked underneath it and their wedding party kind of spilled out from there! Later in the evening, the tables came down and a delicious old-school ‘candy buffet’ was setup under the candle-lit branches!

Moya + David's Niagara nuptials were celebrated outdoors in the Cave Spring Vineyard

Holly + Rodolfo were wed at Cave Spring Winery’s ‘Vineyard Retreat’ among the grape rows in the vineyard where some of Niagara’s best vintages begin! The wedding ceremony was supposed to be in the vineyard, but was changed to the Retreat at the last minute because the weather was not cooperating!
