This weekend we gathered up the team and trotted up Highway 400 to Richmond Hill to design the flowers and Chuppah for Caley + Richard's nuptials at the lovely Richmond Hill Country Club! We love our home turf here in Niagara, but we also like to travel once in a while ... just to see how all the non-Niagaran's get by ... ya know?!?! :)
Caley + Richard's outdoor wedding ceremony took place in The Valley below the Country Club ... under one of our custom-made curly willow Chuppahs. It was a beautiful spot next to a babbling brook replete with an old wooden bridge you could only cross on foot ... picture perfect. Cocktails took place on one of the back patios immediately following the ceremony. Later in the evening, Caley + Richard hosted a dinner for their nearly 200 guests in Ballroom upstairs.
The colour palette for today was a blend of 'Forest' and 'Spirit' .... the ceremony and wear and carry were all Forest themed and we add hits of bold pink to the reception flowers!
Our best wishes are with Caley + Richard at the start of their new journey together ... Mazel tov!
The bride and bridesmaid's bouquets ... these colours were a perfect choice as the Forest palette looked right at home in The Valley! How adorable does Caley look ... a picture of complete serenity!!

The dapper looking gents ... all lined up and ready to walk the mile down the aisle!

In case you were wondering (and we know that you were!) ... our Chuppah frame can be adapted to many styles ... fabric, birch log, curly willow. For Caley + Richard's wedding ceremony, we designed a curly willow Chuppah and hand-tied over 150 white orchid blooms onto the willow.

Here come the hits of bold pink ... these centerpieces looked absolutely stunning in the Ballroom with the textured linens and gold chiavari chairs.

It's been a while since we've been at Vineland Estates Winery, but some things will never change ... we still looove intimate Niagara winery weddings!!
Vineland Estates is still one of the most beautiful intimate winery wedding venues in Niagara and it always feels like coming home when we get to work there. It's great to see Diane and Jared and the crew ... we've got a great history of designing/hosting the most beautiful weddings together!
Mary + Dan were married in the lovely old stone Carriage House overlooking the vineyard with the Niagara Escarpment in the distance ... breathtakingly beautiful! After the ceremony, their guests were invited on a wine tour and the Carriage House was seamlessly flipped into the reception space ... a beautiful tablescape seating 17 guests in the centre of the room!
Mary's colour palette was a Forest meets Charm mash-up ... the main focus was white and ivory with just a little splash of blush for colour! We used white mini callas, orchids, freesia, sahara roses, blackberries, blushing bride, dianthus and event some antique green hydrangeas and clematis vine from our studio organic cutting garden!
Cheers and best wishes to Mary + Dan ... it was a pleasure to be part of your special day!
This closeup of the bride's bouquet gives you a good idea of the colour palette we were working with ... white, ivory and soft blush!

Mary's bridal bouquet ... no bridesmaids this time!

Have I said how much we love this place? I'll let the pictures do the talking now ...

The long harvest or mission-style tablescape is one of our favourite things to do in the Carriage House ... there's something magical about the intimacy and ambiance that it brings to the space.

Between the ceremony and reception setup, we had a little time to sit down in the Vineland Estates Winery Restaurant and enjoy THE most decadent and tasty dessert and cappuccino I've had in a long while ... it's been a busy season!
I leave you with this one mouth-watering picture ... mmmmm!

If you've never been to The Good Earth or met Nicolette Novak, it's an experience you must put on your 'to do' list when in Niagara! The Good Earth is not merely a place to visit ... it is something to be experienced. A tranquil slice of heaven in the shade of the Beamsville Bench wine appellation of Niagara!
This weekend, Bronwen + Mark and their guests had a glorious chance to 'experience' the Good Earth for themselves! The couple were married amongst the vast gardens on the property and later celebrated in upscale garden party fashion with delicious delectables including wood-fired roasted pork and ... an oyster bar!
Side note ... Bronwen is the daughter of Rodney Clark of Toronto's famed Rodney's Oyster House.
Working with an organic and natural feeling green and white palette, we designed our pieces for Bronwen + Mark using flowers such as peonies, roses, hydrangea and viburnum. We 'garnished' our pieces with various cuttings from our organic gardens here at the Studio ... including lady's mantle, astilbe, fern fronds, mulberry springs and oregano. Elements included birch logs, cork vessels, wrought iron Shepherd's Hooks and glass Mason jardinieres!
There's nothing quite like an early summer outdoor winery wedding in Niagara ... you have to experience it for yourself!
Welcome to the Good Earth Food and Wine Company ...

Browen's bouquet … featuring peonies, pieris and japanese painted ferns and wrapped in a gorgeous silvery-blue-pewter satin ribbon.

Coordinating bridesmaid's bouquet ... slight more petite and with a darker ribbon.

Our custom-made Shepherd's Hooks have turned out to be quite a hit amongst our brides this year!

Isn't she angelic? I think I say this about every flower girl!

Here comes the bride!

We created tablescapes of flowers for the 32 foot long mission-style seating arrangements ...

Four of these little cloches marked the tables ... apples, grapes, pears and mulberries!

We cozied up one of the garden seating areas with these birch log lantern standards ...

It was another busy, but exciting weekend of weddings in the VDC Studio!!! It's so great that we get to celebrate so many love stories ... each one is unique and yet there is always a tie that binds.
This weekend, Laura + Blake were married outdoors on the banks of the mighty Niagara River at Navy Hall in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a windy, but beautifully clear and hot day ... better than the severe thunderstorms that were originally forecast!
Laura's colour palette was Forest with a touch of Breeze featuring shades of white, ivory, green, grey and purple ... a definite modern vintage look!
The pewter centrepiece vessels contained 'vintage' blooms such as hydrangeas, roses, berzillia, 'Silver Dollar' eucalyptus and even some sprigs of mint and heuchera from our own organic cutting gardens!
We wish many blessings on Laura + Blake as they begin their marriage adventure ... cheers!
Laura's bridal bouquet ...

At the front of the ceremony site, you could look across the Niagara River and see Youngstown, New York!

We got to debut some of our new earthy stoneware containers ... our new faves!

Laura was accompanied down the aisle by her brother ... a sweet family affair!

You can definitely see the modern vintage flair in these centrepieces!

Just love these antique hydrangeas ... mmmmm!

This weekend, Angeline + Matt were wed at Cave Spring Winery’s ‘Vineyard Retreat’ among the grape rows in the vineyard where some of Niagara’s best vintages begin!
After their wedding ceremony, Angeline + Matt welcomed their guests to an evening dinner reception in The Windows Room at the nearby Inn on the Twenty on Main St. in Jordan Village.
The colour palette for the day was ‘Forest’ featuring mainly shades of fresh green and white with a small hit of butter. To achieve a soft 'local Niagara' feel, we designed with plenty of white hydrangeas, orchids and peonies. We also added some items from our studio's organic cutting gardens including Japanese Painted Fern fronds, Lady's Mantle blooms and fresh mint foliage. Elements included birch logs, green globe grapes and poppy pods.
It was wonderful to be a part of Angeline + Matt's wedding celebration … cheers!
This close-up gives you a good idea of the 'look and feel' of the Forest colour palette ...

The bride’s bouquet …

The bridesmaids wore Emerald Green and carried smaller versions of Angeline's bouquet ...

Angeline + Matt were married out in the spring vineyards with the vista of the Niagara Escarpment in the distance ... the rain held off and it was a perfect afternoon for an outdoor winery wedding ceremony!

Our custom-made wrought iron Shepherd's Hooks lined the aisle ... they looked fantastic against the backdrop of the white Chiavari Chairs!

The head table was designed in 'tablescape' fashion, with multiple satellite floral pieces, birch logs, green globe grapes, strands of ivy and loads of candlelight!

These gorgeous full floral centerpieces looked absolutely perfect against the linens and white Chiavari chairs provided by Simply Beautiful Decor.

Our stationery guru put together the matching Place Cards and Seating Plan using the colours and fonts Angeline + Matt had chosen for their wedding invitations!
