So long 2009 ...

Well folks, that's it for 2009 and the first decade of this century. I also can’t believe we’re already entering our 10th year of business ... craziness!

Despite the ‘economic downturn’, 2009 was a really great year and we're so glad to have had you all along for the ride! It's amazing to look back over this year and see how many wonderful love stories we've had the privilege of sharing in!

I also want to acknowledge the whole VDC crew for their part in making 2009 as successful as it was ... thanks especially to Jen, Heidi and Mark!!! You guys are my core, my inner circle ... I so enjoy creating with each of you!

There are also some amazing moments that I’ll take with me from this year. One such moment was receiving word that we’d won the Canadian Wedding Industry Award for 2008 Floral Designer of the Year! Canada’s wedding industry is filled with amazingly talented floral artists ... we are so incredibly honoured to represent our industry on their behalf.

Another thing that I’ll remember about this year is all the blogging. I’m continually amazed at the readership of this little photo blog. Over the year, we’ve watched hits jump from about 1200 a month to over 15,000 a month! Who knew our floral adventures would be so interesting to anyone else but us!

On a more personal level, I think I’ll remember 2009 as the year we concentrated really hard on the ‘work - life’ balancing act. For too long it’s been a little heavy on the work and not enough of the living going on. I’m happy that the scales are tipping to the middle a little more these days.

We're currently busy booking up for 2010 and looking forward to sharing more exciting wedding moments with you in the days and weeks that lie ahead. So, if it's winter where you are, I hope you're keeping cozy ...
