Shannon + Kirk tied the knot this past weekend and celebrated in style at the lovely Pillar and Post (one of the Vintage Hotels) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario! It was a perfect May Saturday afternoon to get married in Niagara's wine country.
Bliss was the colour palette for the day ... featuring muted tones of antique green, ivory, warm blush and light peach. To achieve this 'modern vintage' look, we chose flowers that have a particular rustic, heritage appeal ... garden and standard roses, dahlias, antique green hydrangea and peonies! We piled on the old-world charm by incorporating fern fronds, heuchera and even some oregano sprigs from our organic cutting gardens!
Best wishes to Shannon + Kirk ... we loved being a part of your wedding day!
Shannon's bridal bouquet ... soft and romantic yet full of interest and texture!

This close-up of Shannon's bridal bouquet gives you a really clear visual of the Bliss colour palette.

We're crazy about the details ... we tied in this funky custom-made ceramic 'button' detail to Shannon's bouquet stem. Something borrowed, something blue ...

Shannon and Kirk's intimate wedding ceremony took place outside in the Rose Garden at the Pillar and Post ... a gorgeous, if not downright hot, afternoon to get married!

The cutest flowers girls ever ...

Natalija + Marc were married in a very intimate and traditional Serbian wedding ceremony and then invited their guests to the stunning (and recently renovated) Burlington Golf and Country Club for cocktails and an evening dinner reception.
Natalija’s colour palette was a fusion of 'Spirit' and ‘Breeze’ which included tones of deep pink and magenta and shades of purple subtly set off by white hydrangea.
We designed this wedding using roses, peonies, (purple, pink and white) hydrangea, orchids, freesia, lisianthus and the-most-wonderful smelling lily of the valley! We also raided our organic cutting garden for bits of foliage such as mock orange, bridal veil spirea and the like!
Congratulations to Natalija + Marc – we loved designing the flowers for your wedding day!!!
Natalija's gorgeous bride's bouquet …

The matching bridesmaid's bouquets ... a big bridal party with 8 girls! The bouquets looked amazing against the shimmery fabric of their dresses ... depending on the light, you'd see tones of lavender, purple, pink, magenta or even electric blue!

We hadn't been to the Burlington Golf and Country Club since their $14 million renovation ... but, wow, what a stunning transformation! This is one gorgeous building ... and they did it all right!

The accent colour, naturally provided by the venue decor, but also brought out in the Chiavari chairs, stationery and guest favors was ... gold! It was a soft, champagne gold and it set off the room amazingly well!
We designed these centerpieces to be raised up above the sacred 'line-of-sight' (we call it the 'no-fly-zone'!) and this helped lend a certain physicality to the room. With low centerpieces, the room would've felt empty ... but the height of these centerpieces scaled down the vastness of the high ceiling just the right amount!

So much of the aesthetic of well executed wedding decor is in the details ... and Natalija + Marc's wedding was loaded with perfectly placed details! We particularly loved the vintage style menu stationery and boxed Godiva thank-yous!

This drop-dead-gorgeous cake was created by Ruth and Eda ... the very talented team of Niagara wedding cake designers at Vineyard Sweets! We had run into Ruth and Eda just the previous day at another one of our weddings!!!

Jody-Lynn + John celebrated their Niagara on the Lake wedding ceremony in The Gallery upstairs at the Pillar and Post. After the ceremony, their guests were invited to the Upper Canada Room for cocktails and an evening dinner reception.
The colour palette for the day was ‘Charm’ which featured medium pink hues. We were going for a contemporary yet vintage romantic feel! The soft and fluffy garden roses and hydrangea were a perfect combo!
Cheers and best wishes to Jody-Lynn + John … it was a pleasure to be part of your day!
Jody-Lynn's bridal bouquet ... soft and romantic! Instead of the traditional satin ribbon, a delicate lace detailing was used ...

Such a wonderful rich texture to these garden roses ... we love them! If you lean in close to your screen, you might almost ... get ... a whiff ... mmmmm!

The bridesmaids had coordinating smaller bouquets wrapped in satin with our neat-and-tidy silver stud finish!

We managed to grab a couple of 'candid' shots of the bride and groom over the photographer's shoulder ... this is why we stick to flowers!

The bridemaids lookin' hot (and concerned, for some reason!) in shimmery pewter with heels to match their bouquets!

If you're looking for an upscale venue with loads of history, the Pillar and Post in Niagara-on-the-Lake is for you! Pillar and Post's original structure was built in the late 1890s as a canning factory and since has been lovingly transformed into a fine Niagara on the Lake hotel and wedding venue.

The soft hues of the medium pink roses and white hydrangea in these centerpieces were balanced with hits of fresh green in the form of mint and mock orange foliages from our organic cutting garden.

We created a focal point with this pink-toned Manzanita Wishing Tree in the Regent Room lobby just outside the main dining area.

We flanked the extra-long headtable with two of our signature 'large arrangements ...

This cute multi-tiered cupcake 'tree' was created by the ever talented cake designers at Vineyard Sweets! Good to see you again Ruth and Eda!!!

We absolutely love, love, love Niagara winery weddings … and you can't go wrong celebrating your wedding at Inn on the Twenty on Main St. in Jordan Village!
Megan and Tim were married on Saturday afternoon just down the street at St. John's Anglican Church ... a gorgeous and stately 160 year old stone church with as much history as our country itself!
The colour palette for the day was our cheerful ‘Glow’ featuring shades of yellow, white and punctuated with shots of fresh green. We used garden roses, orchids and camomile to achieve the look!
Best wishes to Megan and Tim as they begin their married life together … thanks for letting us be part of your day!
The bride’s 'Glow' themed yellow bouquet …

The bridesmaid's bouquet ... love the fabric detailing that we created by using a piece of the fabric Megan's mom had sewn for use as overlays!

A couple of our signature ceremony arrangements flanked the altar ...

Our custom Shepherd's Hooks are flexible enough to be used along the church aisle or at the entrance ... inside or out!

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great ... but our bride and groom made the most of it! Aren't the flower girls adorable with their chic little parasols?!?!?

It’s become extremely popular right now – almost to the point of trendy – to use your ‘green status’ as a marketing tool. Honestly ... we’d like to think we've always been 'green', but there’s always room for improvement and we are constantly striving to become more environmentally responsible.
We compost all plant material, recycle all paper and plastic, as well as re-use and/or return packaging materials to our suppliers. Whenever possible, we source local product to help cut down on transportation, shipping and packaging. One of our main floral suppliers buys strictly from fair trade farms ... which we are excited about!
We even source seasonal flowers and foliage from our own organic cutting gardens ... they’re full of so many great textures, shapes, shades, colours and, of course, flowers! There are tons of amazing foliages and florals that are not sold by floral suppliers in Southern Ontario ... so we decided to grow them ourselves! Brides love it when we add some seasonal floral elements from our gardens into her bouquet or centerpieces ... it’s something special that no other bride will have!
Every little thing makes a difference and we’re always trying to do our part to help protect and heal our planet. Enjoy the pics from our gardens taken on this beautiful day in May!
We love the rich burgundy and mocha/chocolate tones in these heuchera and cotinus, the whimsy of the fern frond and the crisp edges of these unfurled hosta leaves!

Subtly fragrant herbs like sage and allium have such great form and texture and add interest to centerpieces ...
Japanese Painted Fern, traditional lavender (great for the bloom and the silver-grey foliage!), bleeding heart, sedum 'Autumn Joy' (another versatile plant that we love for it's texture) and pieris.
The princess of scents in the spring garden ... the oh-so-delicate Lilly of the Valley ... which occasionally makes an appearance in our bridal bouquets!
We love, love, love the texture of cotton lavender, lamium and river birch bark!

We are an award-winning Niagara floral design studio specializing exclusively in weddings and events.
We are artists who take pride in creating specifically for our couples … to produce just exactly what it is that makes them gasp and say, “That’s it! That’s us!”.
Our rich, full centerpieces, venue décor and bridal bouquets inspire a natural yet contemporary presence – creating the ambience that makes your day extraordinary!
We live for styling flowers at Niagara’s finest wineries, event venues, hotels, restaurants and chapels!
